Larissa Hotels

Since I live in Larissa, it is unlikely that I would be staying in a hotel. But, I work mostly with foreigners and I do ask them about the hotel they stay at.

Below is a list of the most recommended hotels in Larissa.

Archondiko
of Metaxochori

table and chairs in the front yard

The Archondiko is located in a small mountain community of Metaxochori. This village is a great place to visit. I have gone there very often just for coffee and a few times to eat. There is an indoor dining room with a fireplace. The entire building is made from stone and it's on the side of a hill where you can see the entire Valley of Agia. There are trees and other stone houses all around the hotel. The front yard allows you to eat outdoors with a magnificent view and excellent hospitality.
This is a small hotel that looks more like a house than a hotel. In fact, long ago it was a single family home. In the hotel lobby you can purchase things like fresh honey from the nearby honey combs, or a variety of fresh jams prepared by the hotel owners themselves.

The hotel sign is not too noticable and there is a good chance you will miss it even if you walk past it looking for it. So don't be too shy to ask for directions, everyone in Metaxochori knows Where the Archondiko is

Divani Palace
of Larissa City

main lobby

I have been told that this is the hotel that the Prime Minister of Greece stays in when he visits Larissa. The Divani Palace is a five star hotel located in the center of Downtown Larissa, Only a few meters from the Ancient Theater. I have never stayed there, but they tell me it's very nice.

Grecotel
of Larissa City

The "Larissa Imperial" or is it "Grecotel" There are two names on the front so your guess is as good as mine. It's located on Farsalon street. Like I said, I don't know much about hotels here, But rumor has it that this is the most expensive hotel in Larissa. So it must be special.
